About pigling bland

Hello.

I am your resident ginger pigling. By marriage I have gained the surname Bland.
Here you can be part of my kitchen based adventures.
I can only aspire to be as interesting / beautiful / funny as the bloggers and tweeters who have inspired me to do this, but nonetheless I hope you enjoy sharing my mistakes and (occasional) triumphs.
I may intersperse food-based posts with other things, if only to show that I am an occasionally cultured pigling. I hope you will bear with me in these moments.
I tweet as @gillbla

Aww, your story is so cute! I adore your creativity and wonderful cakes! The “Request a bake” part is also cool, especially you expecting music suggestions. What do you prefer to listen to while baking?

Mariam. I am SO sorry. I’ve only just seen your lovely comment. I’m not sure how it slipped through the net. I love to listen to a mixture, from a bit of sunshine hip-hop (not the ganster kind!) like Jurassic 5, to folksy indie by Rue Royale (rueroyalemusic.com), a lot of Radio 4, some Radio 1 and Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring…oh and some cheesy pop like Avril Lavigne too!

I did part of my studies in London. It’s a great city. I used to buy a day ticket and take a long ride on the subway from morning to midnight, getting off and seeing places and getting back again. It was during summer. I loved the pub lunches too and feeding the pigeons on Trafalgar square, visiting markets, eating potatoes baked in jackets. You live in a great city!
